Ephesians 4

Wow, there is a lot of stuff going on in this chapter. I could make a small comment here as I've done with the other posts and recap a point from the chapter, but I would rather simply hear what you have found striking about Paul's words...so...comment away.

I think I said something about our call to humility last week, but verse 2 stood out to me so I'll say something again. It tells us to be completely humble and gentle, patient, bearing with one another in love. I think about how many times my ego can get in the way and cause a little bit of strife when there really is no need for it. I think that this verse gives us the foundation of how we can work together as a body of believers when globally we are all so diverse. If we approach issues with humility and love (instead of hammering thesis into doors...Just kidding ML there is a time for that too...Did I just apologize to Martin Luther) we can work together as a body made up of distinct parts that each carry out unique tasks.
Another part of this chapter that I liked was verse 14 when Paul tells us that in our maturity we will no longer be blown about by every wind of teaching. I was listening to Bad Religion (sorry) while rallying my scooter out to school yesterday and one of the songs was called The Answer and the chorus says "don't tell me you've got the answer, cause another one will come along soon." I do think it is important for us as believers to be educated about what is going on, enough that when we hear something through the media we know enough to have an opinion as to whether it is valid or not. I guess this would be maturity that prevented us from being tossed about on the waves of our modern sensationalist media...(dismount soapbox)
